ASHKIRK
THE LATE MR ROBERT SCOTT - The community of Ashkirk has sustained a great loss by the death of Mr. Robert Scott, which took place late on New Year’s day. Mr. Scott was for 30 years shepherd at Synton Parkhead. He was keenly interested in all the affairs of the parish, in which he resided practically during his entire life. He had been a member of Ashkirk United Free Church for 54 years, and an office-bearer for 36 years. For his loyal support of the Church and his fervent piety, he was much respected by the members. Mr Scott was regular exhibitor at the Ashkirk Horticulture Show, where he won many prizes. By the entire countryside Mr. Scott was beloved for his genial hearty kindness, as well as for his undeviating honour. Mr Scott had just entered his 75th year
